Prayer Emphasis of the Week:

Please pray for Si and Colleen Ishimaru and their ministry with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) in Santa Barbara. Their prayer needs include: possibility of opening a club at Adams School this spring, as well as another club for children with developmental disabilities, perhaps at the Montecito YMCA; praise for the 250 children enrolled and served in Good News Clubs, with a goal to attract an additional 50 children; summer ministry plans for reaching children at local parks and community locations; need for office space at a location other than their home.

Baptisms:

We will be having baptisms during the Easter Sunday Service on April 4th. If you are interested in participating, please contact the church office.

Acts Study Materials:

Binders for the Acts Study Guides are available in the foyer for $2 each. Also available are copies of last week's study guide, order forms for past studies, and sermon CDs. Pew Bibles and Bibles for Ethiopia:

We are continuing to take donations for new ESV Bibles for our sanctuary as well as Bibles for Ethiopia. We are half way to our goal, still needing $1790. If you would like to help us finish this project, please use the Bible offering envelope found on the table in the foyer.

33rd Annual Good Friday Breakfast:

This special event benefits the Channel Islands YMCA on Good Friday, April 2nd, from 7:00-8:45 a.m. at Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort. Tables seating 8 people are available for a donation of $250. Christians Building Bridges with Muslims:

This DVD study on Christians Building Bridges with Muslims is on Friday, March 12, from 7:00-9:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 13, from 1:00-5:00 p.m., at Santa Barbara Community Church, 1002 Cienguitas Road. 75th Anniversary

This year Calvary Baptist Church marks 75 years of ministry at the corner of Chino and W. Islay St. in Santa Barbara. Our Anniversary Committee is planning a celebration event on October 2nd. Please return your reply cards no later than September 1st to assist in food planning.

Weekly Prayer Emphasis

September 5, 2010
Please pray for our AWANA program which begins this Wednesday. We thank the Lord for providing a wonderful group of leaders and listeners. Pray that the Lord brings many families and that the children will grow in their spiritual walk in this upcoming year. Praise God for the brand new AWANA program beginning on Thursday nights at Community Covenant Church.
